What is Z-Score Training?

Z-score Training software was originally developed in conjunction with BrainMaster and Applied Neuroscience. It allows clinicians to train clients by comparing their live EEG data with an FDA approved database of over 600 adults and children. Consequently, trainee's receive biofeedback reinforcement when their EEG falls within a set limit such as plus/minus 1.0 Z-scores (standard deviations). 4-Channel Z-score training measures and trains live client data at four individual scalp sites as well as the connections between those sites. It calculates metrics such as power, asymmetry, ratio, phase and coherence amid 8 discreet bandwidths.

Z-score training is actually easier for the new practitioner to learn--even though its function is highly complex. For example, one can with paper and pencil determine the square root of a number or you can input that number into a calculator. Z-score training can calculate over 200 computations at once. It frees clinicians to concentrate on site selection rather than protocol development.

Z-score training is easier to learn than the traditional neurofeedback protocol selection method. Practitioners who learn Z-score training eventually add some of the more effective traditional protocols to their practice. Initially, most find that it is easier to rely on the numbers and the simple one key Z-score setting. If you would like to sample dynamic z-score training click HERE.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF "LIVE" ONLINE TRAINING?

Professional neurofeedback workshops require travel, rooming and loss of office time and client sessions. Attendance—that is, physical presence—is needed for training in the art of electrode placement. However, with the introduction of the DzCap, mastering the art of 4-channel electrode placement is no longer a challenge. Your first 4 channel hook-up will be accurate and it will take less than 10 minutes—it can easily be learned via the web. After the workshop, 4 channel montages can be done in 5 minutes or less. Furthermore, clean up time is reduce both for your electrodes and your trainee’s scalp. But, there are other reasons to choose virtual training:

1. Online training is not limited to consecutive days. Students are given more time to absorb new material. Sessions are held in the evenings and weekends.

2. Sleep deprivation—a common occurrence at workshops—is no longer a factor because you are sleeping in your own bed, eating your typical diet.

3. Personal attention—often lacking with larger workshops—is a plus, students can raise questions during and between training sessions.

4. What happens if you miss one of the 4-hour modules? No problem-take it the next time the on-line workshop is given. (Cost to retake workshop: $75.00 per 4 hour module)

5. PC issues almost always cause delays during 4-day-consecutive workshops. However, online workshop attendees usually resolve PC issues before the workshop begins. Thereafter, PC problems can be handled between sessions.

6. Homework can be assigned and completed before each session begins. Homework involves hooking up friends and family and acquiring EEG data.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Google check out as shown above:

Parameters

As you make your Joomla! site using the extension you will control the details of the display using parameters. Parameters control everything from whether the author's name is displayed to who can view what to the number of items shown on a list.

Default parameters for each components are changed using the Options button on the component toolbar.

Parameters can also be set on an individual item, such as an article or contact and in menu links.

If you are happy with how your site looks, it is fine to leave all of the parameters set to the defaults that were created when your site was installed. As you become more experienced with Joomla! you will use parameters more.
